What It’s Like To Study The Bible in Virtual Reality

I’ve never been to Jerusalem. Never been to the temple mount. And even if I could go to Jerusalem, it’s not going to be the same experience as when Christ was on the earth.

The Biblical setting is something many of us can only read about. But not too long ago, a few guys came over to my house and showed me something that I just had to get behind and support.

The guys that came over have worked on major blockbuster movies including Avatar, X-Men, Avengers, Thor, The Hobbit, Transformers and more.

They wanted to show me how they had taken their skills in helping to make these movies and moved their attention toward recreating an environment in which someone could learn and experience the Bible in a way that was never before possible.

The guys that came over have started a company called Immersive. They could be pursuing a lot of other things with their skills, but their mission is to help bring the Bible and the scriptures alive and help teach the rising generation.

And that is what stuck out to me the most when they came over to our house. It was my kids who couldn’t put it down.

As I watched them go through this Immersive Bible experience, I couldn’t help but be excited at what my kids were learning while simultaneously having a blast.

Bible VR

When I put the headset on myself, I felt like I was transported to another time period.

When I began exploring the temple mount, I was learning things that I had never heard of before.

I found out that these guys have been partnering with historians and scholars to make this Bible VR experience historically accurate and as “Immersive” as possible.

It really was a special experience for us to have and I just wanted to make sure more people were aware of what these guys are doing. They didn’t pay me to write this. I just genuinely hope that more people will learn from these new ways to experience the Bible.

It’s especially effective for kids. I’ve never seen our kids so excited to interact with the Bible!
